Louis Schmitz |
The event serves as a major fundraiser for the foundation established in the name of the late Louie Schmitz whose name became synonymous with youth sports after his arrival in Farmington in the 1950's
Funds raised from the tournament will help support a scholarship program that will supply financial assistance for needy youth wanting to participate in sports sponsored by the City of Farmington, local sports associations and Farmington Community Education.
The Schmitz Foundation also provides scholarship funds for two Farmington High School seniors. Recipients of those awards will be announced at the post-tournament dinner.
Cost for the tournament is $100 per person and includes 18 holes of golf with cart and range balls, free beverages on the course, the post-tournament roast beef/chicken dinner, a silent auction and eligibility for a variety of raffle prizes.
The tournament is expected to fill quickly so early registration is recommended. For more information regarding registration, hole sponsorship or donating auction or raffle prizes, contact John Barger at 952-240-6793 or johnbarger@frontiernet.net OR Bobby Schmitz at schmitzr21@gmail.com
