The 2011 state 1-meter dive champion has qualified for nationals in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive all four years he’s been atSt. Cloud State. This year’s national meet was held last week in Indianapolis and Magalis placed fifth in the 3-meter dive and fourth in the 1-meter dive. His teammates Aaron Rooney and David Sufficool were also All-Americans in the 1-meter dive.
Magalis (pictured in the center) was fourth and third in the two dives last season and sixth in the 1-meter at nationals as a sophomore.
“This latest trip was the best competition by far,” Magalis said. “I’m just glad that I put 100 percent into all of my dives and I can say I did everything I could considering all the difficulties I have had with different injuries throughout the year.”
