Alumni Tracker: Rotty among MIAC leaders


2009 FHS female Athlete of the Year Kirstee Rotty (left), a junior guard on the St. Olaf College women's basketball team ranks among the top 25 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in five different statistical categories, including third in free throw percentage (.806); 11th in steals per game (1.90); 13th in defensive rebounds per game (3.86); 19th in rebounds per game (5.3) and 21st in scoring (9.9 points per game)...Rotty also holds the 2011-12 MIAC lead in free throws made in a single game, canning 15 of 16 chances against the University of St. Thomas.

2008 Tiger grad Abby Kenealy who leads her Southwest State University women's basketball team in scoring and rebounding with respective per game averages of 14.4 and 4.9, is the seventh leading point-getter in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference...Jordan Bridges, a member of the FHS class of 2011, is averaging 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds a game for Jamestown College (North Dakota) which owns a a 23-3 season record and a perfect 7-0 mark in the Dakota Athletic Conference.

2011 Tiger grad Elena Koch, a forward on the College of St. Benedict basketball team, had a season-high 16 points and pulled down four rebounds in a recent game against the University of St. Thomas....A third member of last season's 23-4 Tiger team, Jamie Kenealy, has averaged six minutes of playing time a game for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls this winter.

Former three-sport Tiger standout Josh Zitzmann who graduated from FHS in 2009, is averaging 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and a team-high 1.4 steals per game for Rochester Technical and Community College.


Ex-Tiger Krystal Baumann has played in 25 of 28 games this winter for the University of Vermont women's hockey team, scoring five goals and assisting on four others...Former Tiger Alex Carlson (left) has his season totals up to a goal and five assists in 17 games for Ohio State University's men's team where he is a junior forward.

2011 Tiger male Athlete of the Year Carl Elmer, a freshman wrestler at St. Olaf College, won three of five matches to finish fourth in the 149 lbs. weight class at last weekend's North Country Open at St. John's University in Collegeville.

2007 FHS male Athlete of the Year Trey Davis finished fourth in the shot put in a quality field at the Frank Sevigne Invitational indoor track and field meet at the University of Nebraska last Saturday. Davis is a senior at the University of Minnesota...On the same day, Davis' U of M teammate, 2010 Tiger male Athlete of the Year Logan Hussung placed second in the shot put at the Bethel Open in Arden Hills.

Tiger grad Mike Shutey, a hurdler on the Wisconsin-River Falls indoor track and field team, finished second in the 60-meter hurdles at the St. Olaf Invitational and seventh in the same event at the Wartburg College Select meet in Waverly, Iowa.

Former Tiger boys basketball coach Dave DeWitt is in the midst of another outstanding season with the Anoka-Ramsey Community College women's hoops team. The nationally-ranked Rams are 19-2 overall and currently riding a 10-game winning streak.
