Girls Track: Tigers 4th at Irish Invite

Nadia Lorencz 3 second place finishes
Tuesday's Irish Invitational wasn't on the schedule but when the opportunity to actually get in an outdoor meet finally presented itself, coach Tiger Tom Hart jumped at the chance.

Farmington competed well in its first official outdoor meet of the 2013 season, finishing fourth in a talent-rich seven-team field.

State power Prior Lake won team honors with 145.50 points, followed by Eagan 96, Rosemount 59, Farmington 58.5, Rochester Century 41, Eastview 38 and Northfield 23.

The Tigers didn't win any events but finished runner-up in four, three coming from Nadia Lorencz. The Michigan State recruit ranked second in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump.

The 4x400 relay quartet of Sofia Chadwick, Alicia Hett, Maria Kiminski and Megan Graham supplied the other second place points for the Tigers.

Graham also took third in the 400-meter dash and Isabelle Ferm placed third in the triple jump.

Ferm, the defending Missota Conference 400-meter champion, earned her third place finish in her only activity of the day as she suffered a minor injury jumping and sat out the remainder of the meet.

Megan Graham 2nd 4x400, 4th 400-meter run

Kiminski took fourth place in the 400-meter run and Emma Record scored a fourth place finish in the 100-meter dash.

The 4x800 relay foursome of Alex Frost, Sammi Hyytinen, Chadwick and Hett placed fifth as did Destiny Schmitz in the high jump.

The 4x100 relay team of Kelli Elmer, Record, Jennifer Miller and Nicole Doran came in sixth.

Weather permitting, the Tigers will host their annual invitational meet Thursday at Tiger Stadium.
