The Tigers had a tough day at the Gold and Maroon Invitational held Saturday, Jan. 7, at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Farmington finished at the back of the pack in a quality 13-team field.

State power Stillwater claimed the tournament title with 449 points. Farmington finished the day with 71 points.

Christopher Kirchmann turned in the top Tiger performance in individual events, finishing ninth in the 50 freestyle and 10th in the 100 freestyle.

Kirchmann also swam on a pair of point-scoring relay events. He joined with Aaron Lane, Zach Holton and Conner Kealy to take 11th in the 400 freestyle and teamed with Lane, Holton and Nick Stephan to place 11th in the 200 medley.

Diver Evan Carufel ranked 11th on the one-meter board and Holton registered an 18th place finish in the 100 butterfly to account for the other Farmington points.

The Tigers are hoping for better results Thursday when they entertain Shakopee in a Missota Conference dual meet at the Dodge Middle School pool.
