The defeat was the second in four days for the Tigers who were outscored 11-1 in the two contests.
"Our
first four games have been a rollercoaster," coach Jon Holmes said. "We expected to have some ups and
downs, especially early, but hopefully we can get off the thrill ride and make some
steady progress in the weeks leading into our holiday tournament."
The teams played a competitive scoreless first period before the Lightning struck for two goals in a 1:18 span early in the second and then added a third later in the period to take a 3-0 lead into the final break.
The winners made it 4-0 with a power play score 4:47 into the final frame before Haleigh Zwart (from Breanna Raske and Rachael Welzin) got the visitors on the board with 12 minutes to play to close out the scoring.
Eastview controlled play most of the afternoon, outshooting the Tigers 26-12, including an 11-4 advantage in the third period.
Maddie Bowe worked the Farmington nets, finishing with 22 saves in a busy day's work.
After a three straight road games the Tigers return home Tuesday night to entertain Wayzata in a non-conference contest at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
