State-power Stillwater took top team honors with 74 points, well ahead of runner-up Eden Prairie who tallied 104.
Hutchinson ranked third at 112, followed by Chanhassen 182, Lakeville North 190, Robbinsdale Armstrong 192, Prior Lake 205, Minnetonka 218, Osseo 227, Chaska 231, Burnsville 236, St. Louis Park 247, Farmington 279, Lakeville South 319, Eagan 401, New Prague 441, Bloomington Kennedy 478, Richfield 488, Bloomington Jefferson 531, Waconia 570, Mankato West 573 and Dassel-Cokato 635.
"This was a great meet for us," Tiger coach Lisa Lippold said. "We have been working in running in a pack and that's just what we did.
"Justin knew he was capable of running with the front pack and he has been trying to break 16:00 all season. He's been working on staying consistent the first two miles and then picking it up in the third and he did just that."
Hyytinen's finishing time was 15:56, second only to Hutchinson's state-ranked Isaiah Barlow in the 156-runner field.
Alex Hart stayed right at his personal best time with a 41st place finish in 17:07. Devon Webb and Sean Dougherty finished 77th and 79th respectively with finishing times of 17:44 and 17:49. Hunter Sevenich was one spot behind in 80th place with a personal best time of 17:49.
Matt Anderson clocked 18:34 and finished 118th and Harrison Schneider ranked 133rd with a time of 19:04.
"Derek Cole also took a minute of his best time in the junior varsity race," Lippold said. "That would have made him our sixth varsity runner today."
This weekend the Tigers hop on the bus and head to Duluth for another mega-meet, the Swain Invitational.
