The Tigers squeezed by Holy Angels 25-23 in the opening game and then scored 25-15 and 25-22 wins in the final two to sweep Holy Angels in a Missota Conference match played Thursday night in Richfield.

"Both teams played well in the first game," Tiger coach Mike Woody said. "Then we we jumped out to big leads in the second two before we made a lot substitutions.

"Our freshmen hitters (Kenzie Hesse and Emily Fahning) played really well. So did senior libero Diana Comes."

The trio of Fahning (16), Hesse (8) and Morgan Cecchittini (6) accounted for 30 of the 37 Tiger kills. Setter Ruthie Schmitt finished with 31 assists and she, Fahning, Comes and Hanna Baer each contributed a pair of service aces.

Fahning had 18 digs and teammates Baer and Comes came up with 10 and nine respectively to spark the defensive effort. Fahning led in serve receptions with 18 while Baer totaled 10 and Comes nine. Vanessa Garske was tops in block with six; Hesse added three.

The win was the 17th (against 10 losses) for the season for the Tigers who won 15 matches all of last season. Farmington is 2-4 in Missota Conference play.

The girls close out their regular and conference seasons next Tuesday with a home match against Shakopee. Section 1AA play begins Thursday, October 23.
