The Tigers should have saved some of their season-high eight goals they scored against Owatonna last Friday for Tuesday night's frustrating 1-0 loss to Apple Valley at the Apple Valley Civic Arena.

Calvin Leong's goal three minutes into the third period provided the difference for the Eagles who won for the first time in four tries this season. The loss dropped the up-and-down Tigers to the .500 mark at 3-3.

The game was as close as the final score indicated with Apple Valley holding a 26-25 edge in shots on goal. Each team came up empty on four power play opportunities.

" We were a bit off again," coach Keith Revels said. "We had difficulty sustaining any sort of momentum. We need to play with more energy and sense of urgency.

"That being said, we had our chances. It was a bit frustrating overall and hopefully the first and only time we get shut out...When you give up only one goal on the road you should come out of it with a win."

Mac Wartick earned the shutout win for Valley with 26 saves. Nick Schoening worked the nets for Farmington, turning back 24 shots.

Farmington returns to the friendly confines of Schmitz-Maki Arena Thursday night when it entertains Spring Lake Park (3-1) in a non-conference game.
