The Tiger season came to a quiet end Thursday afternoon, Oct. 13, with all four Farmington entrants bowing out in the opening round of the sub-section individual tournament played at the Fred Wells Tennis Center at Ft. Snelling.
Each of the seven participating schools entered two singles players and two doubles teams in the seeded tourney.
Melanie Kappes and Megan Stivers played singles for the Tigers with Kappes losing to Ellie O'Brien of Northfield 1-6, 0-6 and Stivers falling to Lisa Hall of Lakeville North 0-6, 0-6.
Meghan Lindstrom and Maggie Rudorfer, both singles players during the regular season, paired up at one doubles slot and lost to a team from Rochester Century 0-6, 0-6.
Farmington's best effort of the day came from the tandem of Katie Burgess and Ally Midboe who lost 4-6, 1-6 to a team from Northfield.
"We were on serve until the tenth game of the first set when we were finally broken," Tiger coach Jack Olwell said. "Katie and Ally were firing on all cylinders, but unfortunately, so was Northfield. Still it was a great match with long rallies and solid net play."
