Volleyball: Tigers fall at Chanhassen

Missota Conference leader Chanhassen dominated Farmington in the opening game but the Tigers came back to battle the unbeaten (5-0) Storm evenly over the final two in a match played Thursday night in Chanhassen.

The Storm rolled to an easy 25-9 win in game one before the Tigers lost games two and three by scores of 21-25 and 20-25.

The loss leaves Farmington with an overall mark of nine wins and 11 losses. The Tigers are 1-4 in Missota Conference play.

Diana Comes and Emma Fahning both put up solid numbers for the Tigers in the losing effort. Comes led in serve receptions (15) and digs (8) and also chipped in with a trio of services aces. Fahning finished with a team-high six kills, seven digs and 14 serve receptions.

Setter Mia Johnston was tops in assists with nine. Rachel Eckert added 13 serve receptions and Kaylene Seurer had three blocks.

Saturday the girls make the short trip to Cannon Falls for 16-team tournament and next Tuesday they resume conference action with a home match against Holy Angels.
