Farmington heads into next week's Section 1 tournament looking to generate some offense.
In Thursday's season finale, a 1-0 Missota Conference loss at Shakopee, the Tigers stretched their scoreless streak to three games.
Farmington (8-7-1) finished the conference season with a 4-2-1 mark, good enough for third place in the final eight-team standings.
Shakopee had a strong west wind at its back in the first half and took advantage of it to score the game's only goal at the 15:38 mark. The goal came off a corner kick that Tiger coach Julina Buss said was difficult to defend.
"The ball's trajectory can really change and head toward the goal so fast," he said.
The Tigers had the wind advantage in the second period but could not find a way to get on the scoreboard.
"We moved the ball well and we defended well tonight," Buss said. "It was a fairly physical game."
Sam Peterson had another quality game in the net, recording 10 saves.
Buss also applauded the play of midfielders Blake Smith and Urive Omana.
"They worked hard and did a good job of controlling the ball," he said. "The defense also did a good job of bringing the ball up the field, especially against the wind."
Farmington opens section play next Thursday with a quarterfinal game against an opponent and at a site to be determined by seeding.
