UMD has won three of the four games Meyer has started and the former Tiger standout has performed well, averaging 8.0 rebounds and 7.2 rebounds a contest. Meyer had an eight-point, 14-rebound night in a win over Minot State and a 10-point, nine-rebound effort in a victory over the University of Mary.
Another former Tiger cager, Elena Koch, started for the College of St. Benedict Saturday night in its 66-62 upset of No. 3 rated University of St. Thomas, finishing with three points, a rebound and a block. Koch averages 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds a game for the Blazers.
Two high school teammates of Meyer and Koch are also playing collegiate basketball this winter. Jamie Kenealy is averaging 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds for Wisconsin-River Falls and Jordan Bridges has just recently returned to the court for Jamestown College of North Dakota. Bridges had a team-high 17 points in a recent win over Ogalala Tribal College.
Tiger grad Krystal Baumann has spent much of her sophomore season with the Minnesota State, Mankato women's hockey team on the inured list but has played in 11 games for the Mavericks...Former Tiger Alex Carlson has played in all 20 games for the Ohio State University men's puck team.
2007 FHS male Athlete of the Year Trey Davis who played both football and competed in track for the University of Minnesota is completing a master's degree in sports management at his alma mater and is currently serving as an intern at the school's M Club...Younger brother Trevor Davis is pursuing a graduate degree in athletic administration while serving a two-year stint as graduate assistant coach for the Northwestern Louisiana men's basketball team.
Two former Tiger track and field stars, Logan Hussung and Kaitlin Mincke, are on the University of Minnesota's track and field roster. Hussung is a thrower and Mincke a middle distance runner for the Gophers....2012 FHS grad Alyssa Parco, a four-time state track meet qualifier, is a freshman hurdler/sprinter at Brigham Young University...Michael Amofah is a jumper for St. Cloud State University and Amy Kiminski is a junior sprinter at the College of St. Benedict.
A large contingent of former Tiger swimmers and divers are now competing at the collegiate level, including Kristin Peters, Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Kaitlin Kracke, Iowa Lakes Community College; Tyler Smith, Carthage College (Wisconsin); Brian Huls, University of St. Thomas: Jaymes Awbrey, Carleton College; Tyler Magalis and Brandon Molnar, St. Cloud State University and Michael Brasgalla, Pacific Lutheran University.
