"Chaska is a very good and deep team," Tiger coach Sondra Chadwick said, "but it wasn't so much what they did to us but what we did to ourselves.
"This was a game where I can say there wasn't much I would change in terms of a game plan other than insuring we executed our game plan better. We rebounded well against a very tall team and we held their leading scorer to just six points."
The Hawks put the game to bed early, holding their guests to four of 22 from the field and three of 12 shooting from the foul line in the opening half. Chaska held a big 37-12 at intermission.
"We missed a couple of easy buckets early and it rattled the girls' confidence," Chadwick said. "If we weren't missing open shots, we were missing wide open players coming off screens."
The Tigers played much better after the break but couldn't cut into the defcit built over the first 18 minutes.
Sofia Chadwick was the Farmington team leader in points (11), rebounds (5) and steals (5). Abby Gallus finished with eight points.
"Our girls need to have more confidence in their abilities," coach Chadwick said. "There is a lot of talent in this group but they need to start believing it."
The road doesn't get any smoother for the Tigers as next up on the schedule is a date with Red Wing, another state-rated Class 3A team, Friday night at Tiger Gym.
