Red Wing won five of the 12 events but the Tigers depth was too much for the Wingers to overcome in a 101-82 Missota Conference dual meet win Thursday night at the Dodge Middle School pool.

Four different Tigers had a pair of first place finishes to pace the Farmington effort. Oliver Chow scored victories in two individual events, the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.

Eric Schimmel, Christopher Kirchmann and Evan Carufel claimed respective titles in the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle and one-meter diving and joined teammate Daniel Berg in winning the 200 freestyle relay.

Spencer Kabran provided the other Farmington first by winning the 100 breaststroke.

Aaron Cochnauer scored a pair if seconds for the winners, finishing runner-up in the 200 medley and 500 freestyle.

Other second place finishers included Kirchmann, 50 freestyle; Brandon Dion, 100 butterfly; and Dahlton Bell, 100 backstroke.

Bell took third in the 50 freestyle and Jonathan Bovee ranked third in the diving competition. Other Tigers scoring third place points included Schimmel, 100 freestyle; Tyler Lerbakken, 100 butterfly; and Cameron Molnar, 100 backstroke.

"The meet went well for us," Tiger coach Ryan Hamen said. "Red Wing always has some great swimmers and in most duals they usually take us."

Hamen said he was pleased with the versatility shown by Schimmel in stepping out of his comfort zone and tackling the longer 200 freestyle race.

"He showed a lot of promise (in that event)," Hamen said.

The Tiger coach also liked the continued effort Carufel has put into his diving performance.

"Evan is doing very well in the conference but his goals are much higher," he said.  "Every practice he shows his desire to perform well."

The Tigers now have more than week to get ready for the Section 1AA True Team Championships slated for Jan. 19 at Northfield.
