The theme for the 2011 Tiger Invitational was appropriately "Jungle" and the Tigers ruled as kings.
Farmington scored first place finishes in all four individual events, won the all-around competition and registered 139.7 points in winning the four-team meet held Saturday, Jan. 15, at the District Service Center.
Austin finished a distant second at 133.2 followed by Minneapolis South 121.2 and Columbia Heights 102.7.
"It was a great day," Farmington coach Lynn Bauman said. "We tried many new skills and we had some falls doing so, but we have a lot more potential with those new skills.
"Our beam was a little shaky except for Kiana (Lord) who was sold for a win. Kathryn Beckett started to get her floor routine back together and that was also exciting."
Lord won the all-around title with 35.5 points that included the win on the beam (9.25); a runner-up finish in floor exercise (9.35); a third-place tie in vault (8.7) and a fourth place tie on the uneven bars (8.2).
There other Tigers placed in all-around: Kylie Wharton (2nd; 34.0); Nadia Lorencz (3rd; 33.9) and Tahra Eckert (5th; 33.25).

The Tigers vault back into action Tuesday night, Jan. 18, with a home dual meet with Chaska/Chanhassen.
