Senior Carl Elmer scored a pair of six-point falls to move within one victory of the coveted 100-win career mark at a triangular meet held Thursday, Jan. 13, at Tiger Gym.
The Tigers lost both ends of the three-team get-together, falling to Rosemount 51-24 and Missota Conference rival Northfield 57-19.
"We were up and down," Tiger coach Chad Olson said. "We had three wrestlers seeing their first varsity action and had two starters out. We knew it would be a tough go."
In the Rosemount dual, Elmer scored a pin in the 140 lbs. division and John Walz and Joe Hoeve followed suit at 112 lbs. and 145 lbs. respectively. Freshmen Godfery Mpetey accounted for the other Tiger points with a win by forfeit at 215 lbs.

The Tigers have a week to get healthy, getting back into action, Thursday, Jan. 20, with a home dual meet with Shakopee.
