Big sports week at FHS

The Tiger girls basketball team hosts co-Missota Conference
leaders Chanhassen and Shakopee on Tuesday and Friday

Farmington will be the site for several big sporting events this week, including a pair of Missota Conference girls basketball games between championship contenders, a Section 1AA girls hockey playoff game and the 2011 Missota Conference Boys Swimming and Diving Championships.
The action begins Tuesday night at Tiger Gym when Chanhassen comes to town to take on coach Jason Berg's Tigers in a battle for first place in the Missota Conference standings. The teams enter the game locked in a four-team tie for first place with identical 6-2 conference records.
Shakopee, another team in the four-way logjam at the top of standings, visits Tiger Gym on Friday night. Tip-off for both games is 7:30 p.m.
Across town on Friday night coach Jon Holmes and his 2011 Missota Conference championship girls hockey team open Section 1AA play with a quarterfinal game against Dodge County. Face-off is slated for 7:00 at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
Finally, on Saturday, coach Ryan Hamen and his Section 1AA True Team champion boys swimming and diving team play hosts to the Missota Conference Championships at the Dodge Middle School pool. Competition begin at 10:00 a.m.
