The Tigers took a night off from their Missota Conference schedule and the respite paid dividends in a 58-39 win Tuesday night at South St. Paul.
The victory snapped a four-game losing streak and left Farmington with an overall record of 8-11. The Tigers are 2-5 after the opening round of Missota Conference play.
The visitors gained control of the contest early, outscoring South St. Paul (1-16) by a 25-18 count in the first 18 minutes.
The Tigers gradually extended their lead and used their bench liberally in the second stanza.
All in all, eight different Farmington players found their way into the scoring column with Darren Beenken and Sebren Baer pacing the offense with 18 and 11 points respectively. Alex Michels added eight points and Austin Bassett chipped in with seven.
Farmington will try to build on the momentum of the non-conference win when it travels to Shakopee Friday night to begin the second round of Missota Conference play.
