Farmington geared up for this Saturday's Missota Conference Championships with a solid 94-86 dual meet win over Rochester John Marshall Tuesday night, Feb. 8, in Rochester.
"We didn't have many season best times but we got a chance to work on many of the events the boys will be swimming at conference," Tiger coach Ryan Hamen said.
"Many of the first and second year swimmers showed some time drops but we are really focusing on Saturday's meet. We have a lot of work going on but the boys seem to be up for the challenge."
Farmington won nine of the meet's 12 events, including two relays. The foursome of Brian Huls, Matthew Stephan, Zach Holton and Tyler Magalis started the meet off with a win in the 200 medley relay and later Huls, Magalis, Allen Berg and Christopher Kirchmann claimed first place in the 200 freestyle relay.
Individual winners included Berg, 200 and 500 freestyle; Huls, 200 individual medley; Magalis, one-meter dive; Holton, 100 butterfly; Aaron Lane 100 backstroke; and Loren Hatten 100 breaststroke.
Magalis continued to move up his school record diving score with a 272.05 point total.
Three other Tigers scored second place points in individual events: Magalis in the 50 freestyle; Huls in the 100 freestyle and Stephan in the 100 breaststroke.
