Third-ranked Blake (Class A) erupted for five goals in the second period on the way to a 7-1 non-conference win over the Tigers Saturday evening at Schmitz-Maki Arena.

The loss extended Farmington's (2-15-2) losing streak to three games heading into next Tuesday's non-conference encounter with Irondale at Schmitz-Maki.

Blake (10-4-3) put the pressure on the home team early, scoring twice in the first 17 minutes while oushooting their hosts by a dominant 15-3.

The Tigers responded with a solid second period with several scoring quality opportunities of their own with Rachael Welzin (from Breanna Raske and Shaye Jenrich) notching the Farmington's lone goal midway through the period.

But the Bears continued to pepper Tiger netminder Maddie Bowe with pucks, connecting on five of them to end the scoring for the day.

The up-tempo Bears finished the contest with a more than 2-to-1 shots on goal advantage, outfiring the Tigers by a 33-15 count.

Bowe who had 24 saves in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Chaska/Chanhassen, made it 49 for the two-game set with 25 on Saturday.

Following Tuesday night's match-up with Irondale the girls head back into Missota Conference action with a Thursday home game against Shakopee. Saturday they travel to Inver Grove Heights for a non-league tussle with Simley.
