Farmington (2-14-1) put together three competitive periods of hockey against Chaska/Chanhassen  but came out on the short end of a 4-1 score Thursday night at the Chaska Community Center.

The loss was the second of the season to the Stormhawks who defeated the Tigers 6-3 when the teams met earlier this season at Schmitz-Maki Arena.

The Tigers and Stormhawks traded goals in the game's first four minutes of the contest with Rachael Peroutky (from Haley Doll) knotting the score at a goal apiece.

Chaska/Chanhassen scored on the power play with less than 10 seconds to play in the opening period to take the lead for good.

The winners added a goal in each of the final two periods to raise their season record to 9-7-2.

Maddie Bowe returned to the nets for Farmington and turned in another strong effort, stopping 29 of 33 shots. The Stormhawks outshot the Tigers by a 33-17 margin.

"The big comfort in this game was not only seeing the hustle but also seeing some hard and high quality shots where the puck actually had some eyes,"  Tiger coach Jon Holmes said.

"If we can bring that intensity and attitude to our remaining games we will definitely find the twine."

The Tigers face a big task on Saturday when third-rated Blake (Class A) invades Schmitz-Maki Arena for a non-conference game. The puck drops for the varsity game at 5:00.
