It wasn't easy but the Tigers held on for an exciting 12-11 win over Rochester John Marshall Tuesday evening at the Rochester Regional Sports Center.

Shelby Klotz's fifth goal of the game provided the game-winner with 1:30 remaining in regulation.

"We made this one closer than it needed to be," coach Dan Pickens said, "but a win is a win...We put up the most goals we have had all season."

The visitors jumped to an early 4-1 lead but the Rockets battled back to cut their halftime deficit to a goal at 5-4.

In the second half the tide turned again with the Tigers pulling away to an 11-7 lead late in the contest.

"They (John Marshall) won four draws in a row and tied the game in a hurry," Pickens said. "Luckliy, we won a draw when it counted and turned it into the winning goal."

Klotz and Rachael Welzin continued to be a two-person scoring machine for the Tigers. Each scored five goals and assisted on another. Kaeli Halverson and Jess Herrera also scored for the winners. Herrera and Brooke Genzler each recorded a pair of assists.

Tiger goalie Maddie Kohlbeck faced 28 shots and finished the night with 17 saves.

"Maddie made some big saves in the second half to keep us in the game," Pickens said.

Next up for the Tigers is a Thursday date with Owatonna at Tiger Stadium.
