Former Tiger three-sport athlete Kyle Malin capped a day in his honor by hoisting the Amercian flag for the singing of the national anthem at the Minnesota Twins game with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Monday, June 27, at Target Field.
The flag raising in front of a supportive, sellout crowd brought an end to Kyle Malin Day, a tribute by the City of Lakeville to honor his heroic service in Afghanistan where he lost parts of both legs while on combat duty with the United States Army.
Malin, a staff sergeant who had previously served multiple combat deployments in Iraq, was also featured in major stories in both Twin Cities daily newspapers and on local television outlets.
Malin and his family will soon be returning to San Antonio, Texas, where he will continue to undergo physical rehabilitation for his injuries.
