Farmington allowed four goals in the first and third periods and fell to Holy Angels, 11-2, Tuesday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
The Tigers (4-5-1, 1-1-0) were outshot 62-29 for the game. The Stars (2-8-0, 2-1-0) were six-for-seven on the power play. Farmington had given up just four power play goals in the previous nine games.
“Pretty disappointing for us,” head coach Keith Revels said. “We took some needless penalties and will have to be more disciplined down the road.”

Holy Angels scored the first seven goals of the game before Jake Eldred’s power play goal at 13:36 of the second period. Jack Buss and Andrew Peterson earned assists. Jason Thomas lit the lamp for the Tigers roughly 40 seconds later and the Stars took a 7-2 lead to the third. Grant Hauswirth and Kevin Olund picked up assists on Thomas’ goal.
Mario Bianchi would complete his hat trick in a four goal third period for the Stars. Four Holy Angels players earned at least two points in the win. Victor Simones took the loss, surrendering nine goals on 55 shots before being pulled in the third in favor of Austin Krause, who made five of seven saves.
“This one hurts but have to move forward,” Revels said. Thankfully it only counts as one in the loss column.”
The Tigers continue conference action Thursday as they travel to Northfield to take on the Raiders at 7:30 p.m.
