Farmington surrendered three third period goals and fell to Hastings, 4-2, in the seventh place game of the Louis Schmitz Holiday Classic Thursday at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
The Tigers (4-10) took a one goal lead after the first intermission on a goal from Chloe Batta. The Raiders (6-8-0) would add a power play goal by Sammi Clausson in the second and the two teams entered the third period tied 1-1.
Hastings opened a 3-1 lead on goals by Kiki Radke and Malerie McDowell. Farmington’s Haley Doll would cut the deficit in half with an unassisted power play goal and the Tigers were awarded another power play soon after. The comeback would be thwarted as the Raiders added a shorthanded goal a short time after.
Farmington was outshot 47-24 for the game and finished 1-for-5 on the power play while Hastings finished 1-for-7.
The Tigers return to Missota Conference action today as they take on Holy Angels in Richfield at 7:15 p.m.
