Brandon Scott scored his first career hat trick and the Farmington defense continued to shine in a 4-0 non-conference win Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Hastings.
The Tigers (4-0-1), off to their best start ever, have allowed just one goal in their first five games.
"The defense played well and our midfield did a good job of passing and controlling the game," coach Julian Buss said. "In the end, our forwards simply outmatched the defense."
Scott found the net twice in the opening half to give his team a two-goal lead at intermission, scoring on assists from Cole Landwehr and Tyler Vue.
Bridger Williamson (from Kenny Riley) and Scott (from Hunter Meyers) accounted for the Farmington second half goals.
Buss had high words of praise for the play of the high-scoring Scott.
"Brandon is like a viper in front of the net," he said. "He works very aggressively at finding daylight...As soon as he gets a look, the shot is instantly off."
Keeper Chad Stivers only had to make two saves in posting his fourth shutout of the young season.
The Tigers put their five-game unbeaten streak on the line Thursday night when they entertain conference favorite Northfield under the lights at Tiger Stadium.
