"We had two starters, Abby Gallus and Kaitlyn Gorden, out with injury or illness, but we had some other kids really step up tonight," Tiger coach Sondra Chadwick said. "This was the best overall game we have played in a long time.
"We challenged the girls to maintain their composure, aggressiveness and competitiveness no matter what the score...The last time we played them they beat us 66-32."
A strong defensive effort held the Hawks to just a 24-17 halftime lead and then in the second half the Tiger offense produced 33 points to stay in the contest to the end.
"Chaska is a very strong and deep team," Chadwick said. "They're still in contention for the conference championship."
Sofia Chadwick scored a team-high 16 points and Aly Grebner tallied a season-high 10 to pace the Tiger offense. Chadwick also booked six assists and three steals while Grebner pulled down five rebounds.
Leah Hammond finished with eight points and three assists; Sydney Speer had six points and five steals.
