The top-seeded Panthers fell behind 4-0 early when Aly Grebner and Sydney Speer connected on the first two Farmington shots of the night but then went on a 20-0 run that saw them hold the visitors without a point for 9:35.
"They are a very well-coached and athletic team," Tiger coach Sondra Chadwick said. "Our goals were to keep their score and our turnovers down. We knew we wouldn't be able to press them because of their speed and ball handling skills.
"Defensively we did a fairly good job with our zone but we turned the ball over too much and we had trouble rebounding against a much bigger team."
North led 30-12 at the halftime break and then extended its lead throughout the second half, holding the Tigers to just seven field goals over the final 18 minutes.
The second period was marred by an inadvertent head-to-head collision between Grebner and North standout Simone Kolander with 15:19 to play that cost Grebner stitches and Kolander a lost tooth.
Grebner's absence left another big hole in the Farmington rotation. Starters Kaitlyn Gorden (broken nose) and Abby Gallus (broken finger) did not dress for the game.
Sofia Chadwick was the only Tiger to score in double figures in the season finale, finsihing with 10 points. Grebner had five and Speer four. Freshman Mackenna Mayer saw her first varsity floor time in the second half and connected on her first shot.
Farmington finished the season with just two wins in 27 games but with just one senior (Callie Halterman) and one junior (Grebner) on the roster, coach Chadwick is optimistic about her team's future.
"I'm excited to see how they develop," she said. "As far as I'm concerned tomorrow is the first day of next season. There's a lot of work to be done."
