Girls Swimming: Tigers experiment in loss to Centruy

With her team competing for the fifth time in the last 13 days, Tiger coach Jen Marshall decided to experiment in a dual meet with Rochester Century, Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Dodge Middle School pool.

The Panthers led from start to finish and won the battle of Section 1AA rivals 95-88.

"We gave the girls a break and had them compete in something other than their usual events," Marshall said. "It helps them mentally and lets them do something different."

Century, the second-ranked team behind Rochester John Marshall in the section pecking order, bolted to a 10-4 lead after the first event and led 96-75 before swimming the final two events as exhibitions.

The Tigers finished with four wins, including three in individual events: Kaitlyn O'Reilly in the 100 breaststroke; Caitlin Kracke in the 50 freestyle and Jade Alm on the one-meter board.
The 400 relay team of Kirsten Kracke, Caitlin Kracke, Ellie Sundet and O'Reilly closed the meet with a victory.

Four other Farmington performers registered second place points: Kirsten Kracke in the 200 freestyle; Caitlin Kracke in the 100 butterfly; Robin Ellis in the 100 backstroke and Elizabeth Wolfe in the 100 breaststroke.

Kendall Novak finished third (diving) as did Hannah Setzinger (100 butterfly) and Sarah O'Reilly (100 freestyle).
