Girls Tennis: Tough schedule takes toll on Tigers

Tiger coach Jack Olwell is hoping better days are in sight after his team's third straight 7-0 loss to a Missota Conference power, this one to Shakopee, Thursday afternoon,, Sept, 16, at Shakopee Junior High.

"We've opened our conference season with Chanhassen, Red Wing and Shakopee," Olwell said, "and the way I see it, they are the three best teams in the league.

"Hopefully the most difficult matches are behind us. We look forward to being in some competitive matches over the next two weeks."

Maggie Rudorfer won the only game for the Tigers in singles play at the No. 1 position and earned some words of praise from her coach.

"Maggie has been getting a lot better over the past few weeks," Olwell said, "and is ready to break through to the next level."

The No. 3 doubles tandem of Jessica Autey and Rachel Molitor also played well in a 1-6, 2-6 loss.
"Their level of play has risen dramatically in the last two weeks," Olwell said.
