Boys Lacrosse: Defense strong in 7-3 loss to North

Blair Berg led strong defensive effort

The defense did its job and goalie Charlie Weierke had a big night in the nets but the offense struggled in a 7-3 loss to Lakeville North Tuesday, May 4, at Tiger Stadium.
"We were again even or the better team," Farmington coach Paul Sorenson said, "but we weren't willing to give the energy or effort needed to pull this one out.
"Defensively I couldn't be prouder of the unit that played, especially Blair Berg, Jacob Mendala and Jacob Lee."
North took a 5-1 lead to the halftime break and maintained that margin through the final two periods.
Matt Ackerman, Trevor Howard and Mitch Collier each had a goal and an assist for the Tigers.
Weierke finished with 14 saves, several while facing man-down situations.
"Charlie stood tall in goal," Sorenson said.
