Girls Lacrosse: Huskies down Tigers 13-6

Tia Jacoby 5th goal of the season

Twenty-four hours after dominating play in a 14-6 win over Rochester Century at Tiger Stadium the Tigers found themselves on the receiving end of a 13-6 defeat by Owatonna on the same turf.
The Huskies led throughout, building a 9-4 halftime lead and extending it over the final two periods.
"This loss was a little disappointing," Tiger coach Dan Pickens said. "but it wasn't for lack of effort. We didn't come out and play aggressively enough. We weren't getting ground balls and didn't win many draws.
"That translates into ball possession time and that's a very important statistic in lacrosse."
Ally Midboe and Haley Bradshaw continued to provide much of the scoring for Farmington. Midboe scored twice and assisted on three other goals and Bradshaw added a pair of goals. Adrienne Jolicoeur and Tia Jacoby also scored for the Tigers.
Kaitlyn Lacroix and Rachael Welzin shared the netminding duties for Farmington in the absence of Maddie Kohlbeck who is out with a knee injury.
"Our junior leaders continue to produce offensively," Pickens said,"and some new younger girls like Haley Doll, Delaney Johnson, Shaye Jenrich and Kylee Glen are starting to make a difference as substitutes.
"We will be working on our aggressiveness and ground balls this week and we will be ready for the second half of our season."
Pickens also lauded the play of the Tiger junior varsity team that defeated Owatonna 10-3 for its second straight win and evened its season record at 3-3.
