Farmington lit up the scoreboard for a season-high six goals and the only blemish on the defense resulted from a penalty kick in a 6-1 Missota Conference win at Red Wing Tuesday evening.

The victory extended the Tigers unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1) and raised their season record to 6-2-2.

Coach Julian Buss was pleased with the offensive fireworks, especially since leading scorer Jared Wolt missed his second straight game due to injury.

"Red Wing ran the offsides trap fairly effectively," Buss said. "That's where the defenders are constantly moving up to trap the forwards.

"But if you don't get the call, the ball goes through and then it's a race to the goal. We capitalized on several fast-break opportunities because of that."

Robin DeCastro netted his first goal of the season to open the scoring 15 minutes into the game and Jake Spindler added his first two of the year before halftime for a 3-1 lead. Caleb Gochenour, Ben Soresnon and Blake Smith all had first half assists.

The Winger goal came on a penalty kick as a result of a foul in the box and Buss said there was not much goalie Jake Agnew (nine saves) could do about the score.

"The kick was well-placed," he said.

Rafael Romero made it 4-1 six minutes into the second half with is first score of the season and Smith scored twice in the final minutes to sew up the conference win and move the Tigers to 2-0 in league play. Spindler and Matt Dubois had the second half assists.

The Tigers continue Missota Conference play Thursday when they entertain New Prague at Tiger Stadium.
