Running without the services of top runner Justin Hyytinen the Tigers finished 17th in a 20-team field at last Friday's Faribault Invitational at Alexander Park.
Perennial state power Stillwater successfully defended its title with a meet low total of 93 points. Lakeville North and Totino Grace tied for second at 147.
Apple Valley was a point back at 148, followed by Lacrosse Logan 152, Winona 174, Brookings (SD) 182, Owatonna 190, White Bear Lake 208, Faribault 213, Rochester Century 227, St. Thomas Academy 297, Rochester Mayo 303, Albert Lea 374, Bloomington Kennedy 386, Rochester Lourdes 394, Farmington 397, Mankato West 436, Math and Science Academy 552 and Kasson-Mantorville 558.
Alex Hart led the Tigers with a 43rd place finish in the 140-man field, covering the 5000-meter course in 17:50.5. Devon Webb was 55th in 18:02.1 and Hunter Sevenich 84th in 18:38.3.
Sean Dougherty ranked 102nd in 18:56.3; Matt Anderson 113th in 19:43.2 and Ryan Newton 115th in 19:43.8.
Next Friday the Tigers will run in another mega-meet, the Lakeville North Invitational at Aronson Park.
