Girls Swimming: JM too much for Tigers

No doubt smarting from its second place finish to Farmington at the recent True Team section meet, Rochester John Marshall scored nine first place finishes in 12 events to defeat the Tigers 97-81 Tuesday night, Oct. 26, at the Dodge Middle School pool.
The dual meet win was the tenth in as many tries for the Rockets. Farmington finished its dual meet season with a 6-4 mark.
The final score was one-sided but according to Farmington coach Jen Marshall there was a little more to the story than the numbers.
"John Marshall came in with their best lineup whereas we swam some off events in final preparation for this Saturday's conference meet," she said. "Moving people around gave our girls the opportunity to swim something different. It also gave them a break mentally."
Farmington's three first place finishes came at the end of the meet when the Rockets were swimming "exhibition" status: Kaitlyn O'Reilly in the 100 backstroke; Elizabeth Wolfe in the 100 breaststroke and Kirsten Kracke, Sarah O'Reilly, Delaney Wright and Wolfe in the 400 freestyle relay.
Finishing second for the Tigers were Kracke in the 500 freestyle; Hannah Seitzinger in the 100 backstroke and Sara Kinter in the 100 breaststroke.
Next up for the Tigers are the Missota Conference Championships slated for Saturday, Oct. 30, in Northfield.
