Farmington snapped a three-meet losing streak with a 5-2 Missota Conference win over New Prague Thursday afternoon at the Boeckman Middle School courts.

The victory raised Farmington's season record to 7-4 and 1-2 in the Missota Conference. The Tigers won just five matches all of last season.

"We had some great performances and some clutch play at the right times," coach Jack Olwell said. "We had many stirring moments."

The winners grabbed three of the four singles points and claimed two of three doubles matches to account for their five points.

Megan Stivers avenged a 2012 loss to her opponent with an impressive 6-4, 6-1 triumph at first singles. Ryan Jara started slowly in her match at the second slot but battled back for a 6-7, 6-1 win. Callie Olmscheid cruised at No. 4, winning 6-1, 6-1.

Beth and Lindsey Fairchild bounced back from their only loss of the season on Tuesday with a workmanlike 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles. The third duo of Sam Gallagher and Hannah Toomey also won easily, 6-1, 6-0.

The Tigers will be looking for their eighth win of the season Monday when they host Park of Cottage Grove in a non-conference meet at the Boeckman courts.
