Farmington posted its ninth win of the season Monday afternoon with a 4-3 non-conference victory over Richfield at the Boeckman Middle School courts.

The Tigers won the first four matches of the day and then lost the final three, two of which went to three sets.

With the win the Tigers moved to 9-4 for the season, a record that hasn't been seen in the Farmington camp for quite some time.

"It's been 10 or more years since we've had a winning record and even longer since we've had 10 wins," coach Jack Olwell said. "That's something we plan to do yet this year."

Three of the four wins against the Spartans came in singles play with Ryan Jara, Jessie Novotny and Callie Olmscheid all victorious in straight sets.

The other point came form the first doubles team of Beth and Lindsey Fairchild who raised their season record to a lofty 14-2.

Megan Stivers lost the first set at No. 1 singles before coming back to win the second and force a super tie-breaker which she lost 8-10.

The third doubles team of Sam Gallagher and Hannah Toomey also lost in a super-tie-breaker.

Tuesday the Tigers search for win No. 10 when they travel to Chaska for a Missota Conference dual meet.
