The more the Tigers play the better they seem to get.

After starting the season 2-3, Farmington has reeled off six straight wins, including a dominant 3-0 victory Thursday night at Red Wing. The visitors won by scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

The six wins have all come in a span of six days, something coach Mike Woody attributes to his team's attitude and conditioning.

"We have played with confidence all week," he said. "We have been able to run a strong and balanced attack offensively and our defense has continued to improve.

"Our conditioning has also paid off in this stretch. We  had extreme heat conditions on Saturday and Monday, and three long bus rides to Coon Rapids, Irondale, and Red Wing."

In the win over the Wingers, setter Ruthie Schmitt (28 assists) moved the ball around and attackers Emma Fahning (11 kills) and Kenzie Hesse (10 kills) did the rest. Fahning and Amber Riley also helped the casue with a trio of service aces apiece.

Defensively, Diana Comes came up with 13 serve receptions and Fahning and Schmitt recorded nine digs apiece. Vanessa Garske was a force at the net, registering a season-high 10 blocks.

Saturday the Tigers host their annual invitational tournament at Tiger Gym. Play begins at 9:00 a.m.
