The Tigers were hoping to build a little momentum heading into the post-season but after 90 minutes of soccer in their Tuesday Missota Conference match-up at Chaska all they had to show was a 0-0 tie.
Farmington (7-7-1) had the better of the opportunities, out-shooting the Hawks 22-8 for the game, but could not slip the ball past the Chaska keeper.
"We played poorly but we still should have won," Tiger coach Rob Carpentier said. "We missed several breakaway chances.
"Granted, we had some girls injured, but after a great week in terms of effort we laid an egg. We played much better in the last 10 minutes of regulation and in overtime but we couldn't finish."
Carpentier said that freshman goalie Ashley Becker, who had her second straight strong outing, did a good job of keeping the Hawks off the scoreboard.
"She had one spectacular save and a couple of routine ones," he said.
The Tigers close out their regular season with a conference home game against New Prague. The Trojans are playing their first season of varsity soccer and have yet to register their first win.
