Girls Swimming: Tigers roll in Swim for The Cure
Farmington rolled up a big lead and then in the spirit of sportsmanship swam the final three events in exhibition status on the way to an 89-85 win over Minneapolis Southwest/Henry Tuesday. Oct. 4, at the Dodge Middle School pool.
"The girls had fun competing in off events," Tiger coach Jen Marshall said. "No real surprises but it was fun to watch them race in different events."
Both teams swam in the meet as participants in the Swim for the Cure (for breast cancer) program.
The Tigers roared to first place finishes in eight of the first nine events, starting with the 200 medley relay team of Cora Ruzicka, Zoe Avestruz, Chloe Holton and Kaitlyn O'Reilly. The 200 freestyle relay quartet of Abby Haugen, Chelsea Gehrke, Robin Ellis and Aveztruz was also victorious.
