Farmington finished its regular season with a dominating 4-0 win over Missota Conference newcomer New Prague Thursday night, Oct. 6, at Tiger Stadium.
"We had lots of possession time," coach Rob Carpentier said. "We had 46 shots to their one so we'll be working on finishing this week in practice. But it was a dominant performance, regardless of the opposition."
Carpentier used his seniors liberally in the regular season finale with half of the four goals coming from members of the FHS class of 2012: one each by Kelli Harstad and Rachel Beck. Junior Sydney Eeckert scored her first of the season and sophomore Kelly Kornmann notched her second.
Senior Tia Jacoby chipped in with a pair of assists and Harstad and sophomore Kenya Macias each had one.
Senior keeper Taylor Meyer, out all season with a knee injury, made her first appearance of the year, working the Tiger net for the final five minutes of the game.
The win boosted the Tigers (8-7-1) over the .500 mark for the season. Carpentier said that will likely give them the sixth seed in the upcoming Section 1AA tournament and a rematch with Missota Conference rival Northfield.
The seeding will be held this weekend with opening round play set to start Thursday, Oct. 13, at the higher seeded team.
