Farmington had three players score their first varsity goals and Andrew Peterson added a hat trick as the Tigers rolled over Dodge County 9-1 Tuesday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena.

Jordan Lugowski, Michael Giebel and Zach Colaw tallied their first varsity markers in the rout, which saw the Tigers (3-1-1) score seven goals in the first two periods.

Jack Buss and Jake Eldred, who scored twice, also added goals along with Peterson’s three, who notched his second hat trick of the season and leads the team with 10 goals.

Head coach Keith Revels said he was happy with his team’s play, especially the special teams units. The power play finished 3-for-3 while the penalty kill shut down all seven of the Wildcats (0-3-0) opportunities. The Tigers are now 33.3% (5-15) on the power play this season and 88% (22-25) on the penalty kill.

“We accomplished what we set out to do,” Revels said. “We played pretty well defensively and called off the dogs a bit in the third.”

Farmington held a 35-9 shot advantage after two periods.

Victor Simones made eight saves through two periods and Nick Schoening, who entered to start the third, stopped all five Dodge County shots he faced.

The goals by Lugowski, Giebel and Colaw marked the fourth-straight game a Tigers player has recorded his first varsity goal.

Farmington will travel to Rochester on Saturday, Dec. 17 to take on Rochester Mayo at Graham Arena. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
