The Tigers delighted a Farmington Youth Wrestling Night crowd with a dominating 57-14 dual meet win over Lakeville South Thursday night at the FHS auxiliary gym.

The win was the fifth straight for Farmington, the longest dual meet win streak since the Tri-Metro Conference days in the mid-1990's.

"Our lower weights got us off to a fast start again and it became contagious," Tiger coach Chad Olson said. "We had a couple of matches where we could have done better but overall it was a great night for our team. I like where we are at this point of the season."

Taylor Venz, 12-1 for the season, scored a technical fall in the 106 lbs. bout and Jacob Goddard registered a fall at 113 lbs. for a quick 11-0 Tiger lead.

Kyle Benjamin lost by pin at 120 lbs. but from there, Farmington rattled off eight straight wins and 40 points for a lopsided 51-6 lead.

During the blitz, Jake Rudeen, Chris McCue (145) and Joe Hoeve (160) scored pins; Trevor Breezley (170) and Tyler Engel (182) won three-point decisions and Brayden Champan recorded a four-point major decision. Matt Rustad (126) and Ridge Raddatz (152) each picked up six points via forfeit.

Dakoda Louis-Dupay added the icing on the victory cake with the final Farmington win with a pin in the 220 lbs. match.

"I expected us to win tonight, but not by such a large margin," Olson said. "We showed more balance in our lineup tonight."

Next up for the Tigers is a long road trip to Fargo, North Dakota Dec. 29-30 where they will joint 55 other teams for the annual, multi-state Rumble on the Red at the Fargodome.

"This will be a real learning experience for our wrestlers," Olson said. "The competition will be tough and the lower weights are really stacked with good wrestlers. We're looking forward to it."
