Girls Hockey: Cougars strike early, beat Tigers 3-1

Farmington surrendered two goals in the first 8:10 of the game and fell to Lakeville South 3-1 Saturday in girls' hockey action at Haase Arena.

The Cougars (3-2-1) received goals from Jordan Gill, Morgan Morse and Annabeth Smith. Morse’s was the game winner at 8:10 of the first period.

The Tigers (1-6-0) ended a 150 minute and 17 second scoreless drought dating back to November 22 on Haley Doll’s goal at 15:10 of the opening period. Doll now has two goals this season and leads the team with four points.

Lakeville South held a 35-16 shot advantage for the game. Chloe Crosby stopped 15 shots for the Cougars while Jessica Erchul of the Tigers stopped 32.

The Tigers try to snap their six-game losing skid Tuesday, Dec. 5, when they entertain Eden Prairie at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
