lost 1-6, 2-6 at first doubles
Northfield didn't lose a game in the first three singles matches and dominated play up and down the lineup in its 7-0 Missota Conference dual meet win over the Tigers Friday afternoon in Northfield.
The only Farmington singles player to stay in his match was Ivan Rodriguez who lost a 1-6, 5-7 decision to Andrew Johnson at the No. 4 position.
The Tigers didn't have much better luck in doubles against the talented Raiders who upped their season record to 8-4 and their conference mark to 4-1.
"For the most part our players were disappointed with their level of play," coach Jack Olwell said. "I thought we had some opportunities but we were flat.
"That sometimes happens when there are no breaks from constant matches and there is little time for practice."
Farmington's No. 1 pairing of Topher Kirchmann and Peter Folz turned in the most competitive performance in doubles play, losing 1-6, 2-6 to Anders Carlson and Anthony Ludwig.
Next week the Tigers close out their 2011 regular season with a busy three-meet schedule: Monday at Shakopee; Tuesday at home versus Chaska and Thursday at New Prague. Section 1AA post-season play begins the week of May 16.
