Maria Kiminski
Season-best 1:01.32 in 400-meter dash
Maria Kiminski won the 400-meter run title to help the Tigers to a seventh place finish at the nine-team Eden Prairie Invitational meet run Saturday, Apr. 30.
Tiger coach Tom Hart altered his regular lineup for the talent-rich meet because several of his athletes had competed the night before at the Hamline Elite meet in St. Paul.
"We didn't load things up as much," Hart said, "but we still had some personal bests in some really bad weather."
Wayzata edged host Eden Prairie 137.5-137 to win the team championship. Edina took third with 115 points, followed by Lacrosse Logan 83.5, Andover 75.5, Moorhead 70.5, Farmington 41, Minnehaha Academy 38, Minneapolis North 38 and Blake 6.
Kiminski clocked a season-best 1:01.32 to take top honors in the 400, the only Farmington first of the meet.
Alyssa Parco added second place points in the 300-meter low hurdles and Erin Hickey ranked third in the long jump.
The 4x100 relay foursome of Meghan Graham, Izzie Ferm, Jessica Arey and Hickey placed fourth. Freshman Ferm took fifth in the 200-meter dash and sixth in the long jump.
Next up for the Tigers is Tuesday's (May 3) annual running of the Missota Conference Relays in Shakopee.
