Boys Tennis: Murphy's Law rules

Trent Kortenbusch (above) and Austin Tremmel played at No. 1 doubles
What could go wrong did for the Tigers on the way to a 7-0 Missota Conference loss Thursday afternoon at Chanhassen.

For openers, the match had to be moved from the Boeckman Middle School courts to Chanhassen because the never-say-die winter weather had left the home courts unplayable.

"Jake Bauer (No. 2 singles) is injured and Grady Hauswirth (No. 2 doubles) was out sick so we had to shuffle our lineup," coach Jack Olwell said. "Then one player brought only his back-up racquet.

"To make a long story short, after several matches where we played very well, we suffered a letdown."

All seven Farmington players lost in straight sets in the team's sixth match in the last six school days.

The Tigers get Friday off before returning to action Monday with a Missota Conference dual meet at Red Wing.
