As it turned out the Tigers fared quite well, finishing fourth in a quality nine-team field.
Lakeville South edged crosstown rival Lakeville South 1002.50-936 to earn a spot in next week's True Team state meet. Rochester Century ranked third at 661.50 followed by Farmington 598, Owatonna 572.50, New Prague 564.50, Rochester Mayo 498, Northfield 415 and Rochester John Marshall 349.
"Not a bad meet for us," coach Tom Hart said. "We had some people really step up tonight and compete.

Junior Ferm provided the only Farmington first place finish of the meet, winning the 200-meter dash in 26.68 seconds. Ferm also finished runner-up in the 400-meter dash but had to sit out the 4x400 relay with a sore hip.
Even without Ferm at the anchor the 4x400 foursome of Graham, Sofia Chadwick, Kiminski and Alicia Hett the Tigers finished in second place
Graham finished the meet with two more top 10 rankings, including a sixth place effort in the 200-meter dash and an eighth place showing in the 400-meter dash.

Hett completed her trio of top ten finishes by taking eighth in the 800-meter run.
Schmitz had a solid all-around day, placing among the top 10 in three different events. She ranked third in the high jump, eighth in the triple jump ninth in the 100-meter hurdles.
The 4x100 foursome of Kelli Elmer, Nicole Doran, Morgan Cecchittini and Emma Record finished fourth and the 4x200 team of Racqule Beckett, Elizabeth Welter, Kelsey Lindell and Courtney Johnston took eighth.
Cecchittini also ranked sixth in the 100-meter dash and also placed eighth in the long jump.
Three other Tigers scored 10th place points: Maricia Pacheco, 1600-meter run; Record, 100-meter dash and Lindell, high jump.
