The first line of Krystal Baumann, Hannah Alexander and Chloe Batta continued to work its magic as the Tigers rolled to a 7-0 Missota Conference win over Holy Angels, Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
The victory was the fifth straight in league play for the Tigers who have now won four in a row while raising their season record to 10-5.
"It was nice to see us come out and be able to compete at our level for the entire game," coach Jon Holmes said. "I think we have learned from past experiences that we have to give it 100 percent every shift, every game."
The Baumann-Alexander-Batta trio netted six of the seven goals for the winners who sent a season-high 62 shots flying at the Stars goaltender.
Baumann recorded her fourth hat trick of the season and added an assist for a four-point night. Alexander netted a pair of goals and assisted on two others and Batta finished with a goal and an assist. All in all, the high-flying line racked up six goals and four assists.
Defender Betsy Anderson scored the other Farmington goal, her second of the season, in the third period. Emily Severson, Rachel Peroutky and Breanna Raske each had an assist for the winners.
The Farmington defense allowed only 11 shots to reach goalie Jessica Erchul who posted her third shutout of the year. Erchul has allowed just two goals in her last four starts.
"They (Holy Angels) didn't put up many shots and iced the puck a lot," Holmes said, "but it was a perfect opportunity for our goalie and our defense to hone their puck handling skills and practice playing the puck up to catch a team in transition.
"We work on those skills in practice but doing it in game situations is important so they become repeatable down the stretch."
The Tigers will look to keep their unbeaten league mark in tact Thursday (Jan. 6) when they travel to Northfield to take on the Raiders (7-6-2) in the final game of the opening round of the conference season.
